O’s Win Again Against Playoff Contender, 7-3

Daniel Cabrera gets his 8th win.

Cabrera pitched pretty good. He was charged with 3 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks over 6 and 2/3rd innings. He struck out 8 batters and had 2 wild pitches. It was a good effort and he deserved the win. Brian Burres pitched until the 9th and only gave up one hit. Chris Ray pitched a perfect 9th in a non save situation.

Brian Roberts had a hell of a game, going 3 for 5 with a double and a homerun (his 10th). Nick Markakis had 2 doubles in the game. Jeff Fiorentino had one also. Melvin Mora had a couple hits. So did Jay Gibbons. Miguel Tejada had 3 more hits tonight to set a career high.

Markakis watch: 2-4 (.297)

Tomorrow Erik Bedard (15-9, 3.62) goes for his 16th win against Scott Baker (5-8, 6.33) and the Twins. Go O’s.
