O’s Swept By Red Sox, 9-3

W – Daisuke Matsuzaka (3-5, 6.80) L – Jason Berken (5-12, 6.41)

Berken didn’t pitch his usual game today, he got bombed. He could only make it 3 innings, allowing 6 runs on 10 hits and 2 walks. Chris Waters came in next and wasn’t any better really. He gave up 2 runs on 3 hits and a walk over 2 innings. Brian Bass pitched 2 innings as well, giving up a solo homerun along the way. Dennis Sarfate pitched a perfect 8th and Jim Johnson pitched a perfect 9th. They each struck out a batter.

The Orioles got 2 runs in the 4th when Luke Scott hit his 24th homerun after Matt Wieters singled. Wieters had 3 singles in the game for the second day in a row. We got another run in the 6th after Wieters singled, Scott walked, and Ty Wiggington singled to load the bases. Michael Aubrey walked to get the RBI. Cesar Izturis had two singles and Brian Roberts hit his 54th double.

Player of the game: Matt Wieters (3-4, 2 R (.282 AVG))

The Orioles travel to Toronto to take on the Blue Jays tomorrow night. Chris Tillman (2-3, 4.50) gets his first look against the Jays, pitching against David Purcey (0-2, 6.32).
