O’s Steal Game Two 6-2

W – Chris Tillman (1-2)     L – Philip Humber (2-3)

– Tonight was a weird game but I’m glad the Orioles came out on top. Chris Tillman pitched pretty well coming off a bit of a lay off. He threw five scoreless innings before being taken out of the game after loading the bases with nobody out. He didn’t strike out a single batter, walked two and gave up six hits. He still has to be the odd man out when Brian Matusz returns but he got his first win of the season tonight.
– Of all people to bring in with the bases loaded and nobody out, it was Mike Gonzalez who got the call. He was great, only allowing one run to score on a sacrifice fly. Overall he struck out four over two perfect innings. Koji Uehara gave up a solo homerun but pitched the last two innings, striking out two batters.
– The offense only had nine baserunners but it was Robert Andino who provided the most spark. He hit a solo homerun in the 3rd inning and later scored on a passed ball from second base after Brian Roberts struck out. He singled and stole second base to get into that position. It was a heads up play and Andino has been playing well (above his head) while JJ Hardy has been out. He also made a great play in the field tonight to start a double play.
– The four run 8th inning busted the game open. After Andino scored on the passed ball, Vladimir Guerrero had a two RBI single with the bases loaded and Luke Scott lifted a sacrifice fly.
– Derrek Lee walked twice. Roberts doubled, walked, and scored on a wild pitch in the 1st inning. Nick Markakis and Scott singled in the game.
– The Orioles are now 6-4 over the last ten games.

Player of the game: Robert Andino – 2-4, 2 R, RBI, HR (1), SB (1) (.348 AVG)

Game three will see Zach Britton (4-1, 2.84) trying to win his fifth game of the season against Baltimore native Gavin Floyd (3-1, 3.60).
