O’s Shut Out In Tampa 3-0

W – Jeremy Hellickson (4-2)     L – Jeremy Guthrie (1-6)

– Guthrie got screwed again. Hes used to it, no run support. He pitched the whole game, giving up three runs on seven hits and two walks with five strikeouts over eight innings. It didn’t matter how well he pitched because the Orioles weren’t going to score any time soon. Guthrie has to be the best pitcher out there with a 1-6 record.
– The offense never had a chance. Derrek Lee hit a double. Matt Wieters, JJ Hardy, and Mark Reynolds singled and Luke Scott walked. Hellickson is a very good young pitcher but this is getting ridiculous with our offense. We didn’t score a run until the 13th inning on Thursday and got shut out last night. Its impossible to win if you can’t score any runs. Not much else to say.

Player of the game: Jeremy Guthrie – 8 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, L (1-6) (3.98 ERA)

The O’s will try to score a run today against Wade Davis (4-2, 3.07). At least Brad Bergesen (0-4, 5.57) is hoping so.
