O’s Lose Again to A’s 4-2

W – Josh Outman (1-0)     L – Brad Bergesen (1-6)     SV – Brian Fuentes (10)

– Bergesen wasn’t terrible but he didn’t do enough to keep his spot in the rotation, or even on the roster seeing as he was sent down to AAA Norfolk after the game. He gave up three runs (two earned) on nine hits and two walks with five strikeouts over 5.2 innings. He has been the weakest link in the starting rotation despite pitching a complete game shutout a few outings ago.
– The bullpen pretty much kept the O’s in the game. Clay Rapada continued to get lefties out, striking out the only batter he faced. Jim Johnson struck out two batters over a scoreless frame and Koji Uehara gave up a solo homerun in the 8th.
– The offense has still yet to have an extra base hit in this series. We had six singles and seven walks last night. Adam Jones and Craig Tatum each had RBI singles. Robert Andino, Vladimir Guerrero, Nolan Reimold, and Ryan Adams were the others. Andino and Tatum walked twice while Nick Markakis, JJ Hardy, and Mark Reynolds each walked once. The Orioles are now 1-11 over their last 12 games in Oakland.

Player of the game: Craig Tatum – 1-2, R, RBI, 2 BB (.333 AVG)

Zach Britton (5-2, 2.35) will try to be the stopper and avoid the sweep today. The Orioles get a break by facing a right handed starter in Guillermo Moscoso (1-0, 0.00).
